A much-anticipated moment has arrived – on Monday it will be easier for fully vaccinated travelers in Europe and the US to travel to England again.
Starting Monday, anyone who is fully vaccinated will be allowed to travel into England and Scotland from the rest of Europe – France excepted – and the USA, without having to quarantine.
International cruise traffic will also resume, the British government announced on its website.
Travelers will still need to take a test before traveling, and a follow-up PCR test no later than the second day after arrival. However, they will be exempt from the ten days of self-isolation that have been in place until now. Separate rules apply to travelers from France, who will still be required to quarantine for ten days.
The new rules, which apply to people who have received vaccines approved in the EU and the US, also mean a great relief for the British tourism industry now that 16 months of strict travel restrictions have come to an end.
The decision applies to England and Scotland initially, but the rest of the UK is expected to follow soon.
