American Airlines has named Pascual Alvarez as the new head of operations in Central America, South America and the Caribbean as part of a reorganization of the airline's regional management.
In his new role, Alvarez will be responsible for airport and customer operations in the region, as well as for relations with tourism authorities, governments and other industry players.
He succeeds José María Giraldo, who is leaving regional responsibility to instead lead American Airlines' operations in the western United States.
The reorganization also means that Paola Torri will be responsible for the airline's operations in Mexico and Canada, while Alvarez will become American Airlines' primary contact for the Caribbean and Central and South America.
