Gambia is Apollo's big winter news from Sweden. Now the tour operator is expanding the venture further and launching a pure sports hotel – right on the beach!

Interest in training trips is increasing significantly every year and Apollo Sports continues to expand its portfolio in line with demand. The latest sports hotel in the series will be launched in Gambia this winter – and will be the first of its kind in the country!

– This is an important milestone for us as a tour operator, our local partners and, not least, our guests. Not only can we offer our travelers a new, exotic and exciting destination for an active holiday, Gambia will also get its first dedicated sports hotel. We look forward to welcoming fitness enthusiasts to our newest sports paradise under swaying palm trees, says Daniel Giray, Sports Director at Apollo.

Apollo Sports Hotel Kombo Beach Resort offers everything you need and want for an active holiday, and then some. The hotel will be renovated with a well-equipped gym – in addition to three newly built paddle courts, training areas for both yoga and other group training and not least the popular WOD box that is known from the tour operator's powered by Playitas hotels.

An unbeatable location – and an unbeatable atmosphere!

The hotel's training facilities and activities are tailored to all levels, making it ideal for hardcore fitness enthusiasts as well as active families. The ultimate location right on Kotu Beach also provides the perfect combination of relaxation and socializing. The kilometer-long sandy beach serves as a natural gathering point for locals, inviting refreshing breaks between workouts and social activities such as beach soccer and beach volleyball.

When the sun goes down, the beach transforms from a paradise for sun-loving beachgoers to a vibrant training ground and a lively scene of spontaneous football matches, picnics and barbecues – which not only creates a unique and inspiring environment, but also gives guests a fantastic opportunity to take part in the vibrant atmosphere.

– Kombo Beach is proud to partner with Apollo Sports. Health is the greatest asset we can have, and we look forward to contributing positively to the well-being of our guests – both through first-class facilities, equipment and, not least, service and hospitality, says hotel owner Malleh Sallah.

Training at Kombo Beach Resort

Gym and exercise facilities: The air-conditioned gym offers both sea views and modern equipment from Matrix and Casall PRO – including treadmills, rowing machines, Ski Erg, strength training machines and free weights. There is also an outdoor WOD box for functional training.

Padel, tennis and running: Kombo Beach Resort offers a total of three newly built padel courts, a newly renovated tennis court and opportunities for unforgettable runs along the sandy beach. The padel courts are LED-lit for evening play.

Yoga and group training: On the outdoor platform, both yoga and group exercise classes are held under the open sky with a view of the sea.

Beach soccer and beach volleyball: At Kombo Beach Resort you can play both beach soccer and beach volleyball spontaneously with other hotel guests, or participate at scheduled times.
