She has over 30 years of experience from the hotel and travel industry – from Switzerland and the USA to Stockholm and Sweden's west coast – now Åsa Hansson takes on the role of General Manager at Quality Hotel Match in Jönköping.

With a proven ability to elevate businesses, Åsa brings significant successes from CEO and director roles at Gullmarsstrand Hotell & Konferens, Vår Gård Saltsjöbaden, and Home Hotel Kung Oscar in Trollhättan, where she has consistently driven revenue and occupancy rates to record levels.

– Åsa is a joy to welcome. She has impressive drive and a solid bank of experience under her belt. With her curiosity and warm personality, she is passionate about developing both businesses and people – and we are incredibly pleased to be able to bring her back to the hotel industry, says Vice President at Quality Hotel Sweden, Pernilla Bergendahl.

Since its inception in 2022, Quality Hotel Match has established itself as a significant landmark in Jönköping, strategically located next to the southern shore of Lake Vättern, the Tändsticksområdet (Matchstick Area), and Jönköping's travel centre. When the preliminary figures for guest nights in 2025 were recently tallied at 889,000, it became clear that the municipality had surpassed its strongest visitor year ever.

Returned to home territory

Åsa is known for her ability to build strong internal cultures where employees thrive and perform, which she sees as the cornerstone for creating exceptional guest experiences. After a long career both in Sweden and internationally, Åsa returned to her roots two years ago when she took over her family home in Taberg, just outside Jönköping.

– Returning to the hotel industry feels like coming home, and to do so at such a fantastic hotel as Quality Match is a dream assignment. I look forward to meeting the team, getting to know the hotel, and together creating something we can all be proud of, says Åsa Hansson.

Åsa will take up the role on 11 August and will begin the work of leading the hotel's next phase of growth.
