Many Swedes are choosing to go to warmer weather abroad now, and even though many have been vaccinated, the spread of COVID-19 is increasing in large parts of the world. But what should you think about if you want to travel?
Tobias Axerup, group manager at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and travel expert Lottie Knutson share some tips!
– The important thing is to prepare properly and read up on the destination you are going to, says Tobias Axerup in SVT's Morgonstudio.
This is the first broad advice that the group manager shares in SVT's Morgonstudio.
Some countries may require entry forms before your arrival. What applies in each country is listed on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website and to avoid any surprises, it may also be a good idea to contact your insurance company.
– Check carefully whether you can use regular home insurance or if you need to supplement with something else, says travel expert Lottie Knutson.
“It is important to know the local regulations”
Before you set off on your trip, it is important to find out what rules apply in the country you are traveling to. Do you need to wear a face mask everywhere or does it only apply indoors?
Be aware so that you don't get fined when you walk outside without a face mask, where a face mask is mandatory to wear outside the home.
Plan for your trip home
Another important thing to think about before leaving is planning for the return trip. Always have a margin, advises Tobias Axerup in Morgonstudion.
– If you get sick, the trip home may take place at a later time and then you will need to stay behind.
