Finnair carried just over 1.03 million passengers in April 2026, an increase of 6.3 per cent compared to the same month last year.
The growth was mainly driven by increased traffic to Asia and Europe, while traffic across the North Atlantic decreased. Domestic traffic was largely unchanged. Flights to the Middle East have been suspended since February 28th due to the deteriorating security situation in the region.
The total capacity, measured in available seat kilometres, increased by 1.9 percent. Passenger traffic simultaneously rose by 5.1 percent and the cabin factor improved by 2.4 percentage points to 78.0 percent.
Finnair also highlights strong development in unit revenues. Revenue per available seat kilometre increased by 14.7 per cent, driven by a higher load factor and improved yield.
Freight volumes increased by 7.6 per cent during the month, with clear growth in both European and Asian traffic.
Punctuality also improved. In April, 87.5 per cent of Finnair's flights arrived on schedule, compared to 80.2 per cent during the same month the previous year.
So far this year, Finnair has carried 3.86 million passengers, an increase of 7.0 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
