From 1 February 2025, First Camp is set to take over the operation of Gustavsvik campsite. This is part of a larger investment together with the municipal property company Örebroporten and Medley, one of Sweden's leading players in the swimming and health industry, with the aim of developing and future-proofing Gustavsvik as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the Örebro region.

First Camp is already established in the region through its destinations Ånnaboda just outside Örebro and Nora. Gustavsvik will be First Camp's 73rd destination in Scandinavia and the 54th in Sweden.

”We are delighted by the trust placed in us to be part of this exciting journey and approach it with great humility in taking over this well-maintained facility, which is so important to Örebro. We will use our experience and our own booking channel, the largest in Scandinavia for camping and cabin accommodation, to continue developing the campsite and attract even more guests to Örebro and Gustavsvik. We also want to invest in the campsite, including even more activities for our guests and more cabins and pitches.” says Johan Söör, CEO of First Camp.

Gustavsvik Camping has approximately 650 camping pitches, 40 cottages and has a five-star standard. Annual turnover is approximately 34 million SEK. Adjacent to the campsite is Gustavsvik's popular adventure and outdoor pool. The pool, as well as associated gym operations, will be run by Medley. As part of the initiative, a cooperation agreement has been established between First Camp and Medley to create even better joint guest experiences with accommodation and swimming.

“With Örebroporten as the sole owner and in collaboration with experienced operators such as Medley and First Camp, the aim is to future-proof Gustavsvik as a leading tourist destination. For businesses, we also see that it creates conditions for, for example, hotels and spas, as well as expanded event operations with concerts and other events in the facility's large green areas.”, says Jeanette Berggren, CEO of Örebroporten.

According to the press release.
