The family business Tiraholms Fisk, located on Lake Bolmen in Halland, has been awarded the prestigious Stora Turismpriset 2024! Over two generations, Tiraholms Fisk has developed from a lone professional fisherman to Hylte's largest tourist destination with over 50,000 visitors per year. Through sustainable fishing, innovative food craftsmanship and investments in experience tourism, Tiraholms Fisk has become a role model in the Swedish tourism industry.

– It feels absolutely incredible that we won! Such a nice confirmation of all the love & commitment we together put into Tiraholms Fisk every day. It is also great proof of what we can achieve when we work together to make Halland Sweden's most vibrant food county, says Malin Ekwall, CEO of Tiraholms Fisk

The Great Tourism Prize is awarded by the Foundation for the Promotion of Knowledge in Tourism to a company or organization that has contributed to the development of the tourism industry in a new and innovative way. In previous years, the prize has been awarded to Vasaloppet, Artipelag & Pater Noster, among others.

Tiraholms Fisk is praised for its innovative business with fish at its center. For over 40 years, Tiraholms Fisk has, with inventiveness and many ideas, carefully developed its company and shown that it is perfectly possible to run a year-round destination in the countryside.

– Tiraholms Fisk is an operation that we in Halland are incredibly proud of. The fact that they are now receiving such great recognition in the Stora Turismpriset is both fun and incredibly well-deserved. It also shows how important Halland's inland is for creating unique experiences that contribute to the region's development, says Jimmy Sandberg, operations manager at Visit Halland.
