Hurtigruten is now launching a new cruise from Copenhagen to Tromsø via the North Cape, which is one of three new voyages along the Norwegian coast. The new route offers both Scandinavian and international travellers the opportunity to journey from the continent to the Arctic, with stops in some of Norway's most famous coastal cities and natural areas.
We have a strongly growing demand in Scandinavia. The number of Swedish travellers has increased by approximately 17 per cent from 2024 to 2025 and the number of Danish travellers by almost 20 per cent during the same period.
”Copenhagen is easily accessible for many Swedes and a simple way to experience everything from city life to Arctic nature experiences along the Norwegian coast,” says Hurtigruten's CEO Hedda Felin.
In addition to the cruise from Copenhagen, Hurtigruten is launching a fjord cruise from Bergen and a round trip in Northern Norway that begins and ends in Tromsø. The cruises are aimed at travellers who want authentic experiences with longer stops in each port and excursions organised in collaboration with local operators.
Copenhagen Malmö Port is also delighted about the expansion of its route network.
”Hurtigruten's strong heritage and focus on authentic experiences align well with Copenhagen as a leading cruise destination in the region. An extension of operations during the winter months is particularly valuable, as it creates important economic activity for the city during the low season,” says Luis de Carvalho, Commercial Cruise Director, Copenhagen Malmö Port AB.
All cruises will be carried out on board MS Trollfjord according to Hurtigruten's signature concept, which means that all food and drink are included, the food is prepared from local ingredients and passengers have plenty of time in each port.
The trips are currently being launched as limited offers on selected cruises. The trips are open for booking on 12 February 2026, with the first departures planned from 2027.
