Kenneth Gustavsson will be the new CEO of Gotland Alandia Cruises, which operates the cruise ship Birka Gotland. The ship, which started operating with new owners in March this year, sails between Stockholm, Åland, Gotland, and a number of other Baltic Sea destinations. "The goal is to fully establish Birka Gotland on the map as the Baltic Sea's best cruise experience," says Kenneth Gustavsson.
Kenneth Gustavsson has extensive experience in the shipping industry on the Baltic Sea and has spent the last seven years leading the operational activities within Viking Line Scandinavia. Since May, he has served as the commercial director for Gotland Alandia Cruises, which operates the vessel Birka Gotland. He has now been appointed as the new CEO of the company by the board.
- Kenneth possesses a unique competence in cruise operations aimed at the Swedish market and is a highly valued leader. We are convinced that he will successfully continue to strengthen and develop Birka Gotland as the Baltic Sea's only dedicated cruise ship, says Jan Hanses, Chairman of the Board of Gotland Alandia Cruises.
Birka Gotland offers cruises primarily between Stockholm, Mariehamn and Visby but also serves popular destinations such as Österlen, Höga Kusten, Bornholm and Riga.
It is with great humility that I take on the task of running Gotland Alandia Cruises and Birka Gotland together with my skilled colleagues. We will deliver Sweden's best cruise product with a unique onboard experience and sought-after Baltic Sea destinations that attract both existing and new travellers, says Kenneth Gustavsson.
Kenneth Gustavsson takes up his new role with immediate effect, succeeding Marcus Risberg, who has been acting CEO of Gotland Alandia Cruises during the recruitment process.
