According to Lufthansa, 100,000 passengers will likely be affected by cabin crew strikes this week. Swedish flights to and from Sweden will also be affected.
The airline also warns that its results for the first quarter and also the full year will be affected, CNBC reports.
The airline has already canceled 16 departures to and from Sweden - and there is a risk that more will be canceled.
On Tuesday, Lufthansa canceled four arrivals from Frankfurt to Arlanda and three to Landvetter. To the same airport, five departures from Arlanda and four from Landvetter have been canceled.
On Wednesday, when there will be a strike in Munich, eight flights to and from Arlanda are at risk – but have not been cancelled at this time. Six flights to and from Landvetter are at risk of being cancelled.
”"The best way for affected travelers to stay updated is through the Lufthansa website," says Swedavia's press service.
The strike notice issued by the Ufo union covers flights from Frankfurt on Tuesday and from Munich on Wednesday. The strike action will begin at 4 am and end at 11 pm on both days.
Union leader Joachim Vázquez Bürger says that staff must receive a share of the airline's profits and a reward for their efforts during the pandemic.
The strike is one of several that have been called or carried out in the German transport sector in recent weeks. Among others, Lufthansa ground staff and employees at the state-owned train company Deutsche Bahn have periodically gone on strike.
