On 9 June, Stefan Sandberg will take up his position as Airport Manager at Luleå Airport. He takes over from Ann-Christin Viklund, who recently retired after 14 years with Swedavia.

Stefan Sandberg most recently comes from SSAB where he was head of central workshops and field maintenance and has previously held various roles at both Talga and Gestamp Hardtech.

– I am very happy to welcome Stefan Sandberg to us at Swedavia and Luleå Airport. His experience and commitment will be an important contribution to our mission of connecting Norrbotten with the rest of Sweden and the world, while the journey towards fossil-free aviation continues, says Karin Öhrström, Director of Regional Airports at Swedavia.

Stefan Sandberg has extensive experience of management roles within production, research and development, and academia. He has successfully led various operations in both industrial and technology-intensive environments.

– It is with great humility and enthusiasm that I step into the role of Airport Manager for Luleå Airport. Luleå is in a region with a strong spirit of progress, and I am both proud and happy to facilitate travel to and from the region through the airport. Luleå Airport plays a key role in growth and accessibility, and I look forward to, together with our employees and partners, continuing to develop our operations to meet future needs, says Stefan Sandberg.

Stefan Sandberg takes up his post on 9 June.
