Anders Gustafsson and Lena Herrmann have been appointed as new CEOs of MTR Mälartåg and MTR Pendeltågen, respectively. They replace Joakim Sundh, who has chosen to leave MTR for a new position outside the group.

Today, December 15, Anders Gustafsson and Lena Herrmann will take up their new CEO positions.

Anders Gustafsson takes over as CEO of an MTR Mälartåg that has recently gone into service and increased the number of departures on all five lines since the new timetable was launched on December 10.

The expansion of traffic is possible, among other things, thanks to the fact that many new train drivers have been trained under MTR's own auspices and will graduate in the months before and after the turn of the year.

Anders' previous experience from the railway industry will be very important in order to continue the good development. He joined MTR as CEO of MTR Tech in August 2022. MTR Tech is also responsible for vehicle maintenance at Mälartåg. Previously, he has been CEO of SJ Öresund AB, responsible for Öresund train traffic. Anders also remains CEO of MTR Tech.

Lena Herrmann has been Sustainability & Operational Excellence Director at MTR Nordic and a member of the Group Management since August 2022. She will remain in her current role in addition to her CEO role. Lena has previously worked at SJ, among others, where she held roles as Strategy and Business Development Director and Sustainability Manager.

– I am very pleased to welcome Lena and Anders in their new roles. They both bring valuable perspectives from their previous experiences both within and outside MTR. During the time we have worked together, they have contributed greatly to our operations and I look forward to continued collaboration, says Caroline Åstrand, CEO and President of MTR Nordic.

According to the press release.
