Norrtåg is introducing a 50 percent discount for sports and cultural associations that travel as part of their children's and youth activities. The new association price will go into effect on October 1 and also includes accompanying leaders.
The initiative is aimed at non-profit children's and youth associations in northern Sweden and means that they can travel for half of Norrtåg's regular ticket price.
To use the discount, the association needs to register with Norrtåg. After that, trips to, for example, matches, cups, competitions, camps, concerts and performances can be booked via the company's association portal.
– With this initiative, we are significantly reducing costs and giving more associations the opportunity to choose a safe and secure way to travel together, says Teresa Bergner, Marketing and Sales Manager at Norrtåg.
Want to reduce the importance of distances
Norrtåg justifies the investment with the long distances in northern Sweden, where travel to club activities can involve both large costs and long driving distances for leaders and parents.
The train company also hopes that the initiative will get more children and young people acquainted with public transport.
– The distances here are large, and with this initiative we want the distances to be less of an obstacle for children and young people to participate in cups, camps, concerts and performances together with their association, says Teresa Bergner.
The 50 percent discount applies from October 1st for registered non-profit sports and cultural associations and their accompanying leaders.
