He most recently held the position of Chief Commercial Officer at Finnair, where he played a central role in reshaping the company's commercial and network strategy, as well as launching extensive initiatives in revenue optimisation and loyalty programmes.

Strong international background

Before his time at Finnair, Orvér was Senior Vice President – Network Management at Qatar Airways. He has also held leading positions within Air Berlin, LOT Polish Airlines and SAS Scandinavian Airlines.

He holds a degree in economics from Mid Sweden University, as well as a certificate from the Strategic Thinking and Leadership Growth Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Robert Isom, CEO of American Airlines and current Chairman of the oneworld Governing Board, comments:

We are very pleased to welcome Ole as the CEO of oneworld. With his proven ability to strengthen commercial performance, deep knowledge of airline collaborations, and broad international experience, he is the right person to lead the alliance forward.

Orvér himself says:

It is an honour to join oneworld at a pivotal time for the global travel industry. Together with our member airlines, we will continue to develop the world's premier alliance, enhance the customer journey and embrace new technological opportunities.

Leadership change

Orvér succeeds Nathaniel Pieper, who recently took up a commercial director role at American Airlines. The oneworld board thanks him for his significant contributions during his tenure as CEO.

As the new CEO, Ole Orvér will lead oneworld's continued work to strengthen customer benefits through deeper integration between member airlines and further technological advancements. He will report to the alliance's governing board, which comprises the CEOs of the member airlines.
