Oneworld has today appointed the experienced airline industry leader Ole Orvér as its new Chief Executive Officer. He will take up the role on 1 April 2026.
Örver, who is a Swedish citizen, has over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry. He most recently held the position of Chief Commercial Officer at Finnair, where he played a central role in reshaping the company's commercial and network strategy, as well as launching extensive initiatives in revenue optimisation and loyalty programmes.
Strong international background
Before his time at Finnair, Orvér was Senior Vice President – Network Management at Qatar Airways. He has also held leading positions within Air Berlin, LOT Polish Airlines and SAS Scandinavian Airlines.
He holds a degree in economics from Mid Sweden University, as well as a certificate from the Strategic Thinking and Leadership Growth Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Leadership change
Orvér succeeds Nathaniel Pieper, who recently took up a commercial director role at American Airlines. The oneworld board thanks him for his significant contributions during his tenure as CEO.
As the new CEO, Ole Orvér will lead oneworld's continued work to strengthen customer benefits through deeper integration between member airlines and further technological advancements. He will report to the alliance's governing board, which comprises the CEOs of the member airlines.
