Portugal abolishes quarantine requirements for Swedes

Remove

Portugal has lifted the quarantine requirement for entry from Sweden as of the beginning of the month, Portugal's tourist office said in a press release. This means that Swedes can now vacation freely on the Portuguese mainland as well as the Azores and Madeira.

However, travelers must still present a negative COVID test that is no more than three days old, and this applies even to those who have been vaccinated. Children up to two years old are exempt from the test requirement except for trips to Madeira and the Azores where the limit is 11 and 12 years old respectively.

Portugal opened its borders to tourists on May 17, but Sweden and four other EU countries were excluded due to the infection situation.

Certain restrictions still apply in the country, including requirements for face masks.
