Saturday 1 April marks the launch of the Trelleborg-Sassnitz line with the high-speed catamaran Skane Jet in Trelleborg Harbour. At the same time, we welcome FRS Baltic as a new ferry company customer at the port.

The quickest way to the Continent
The high-speed catamaran Skane Jet transports over 600 passengers and 200 vehicles in just 2.5 hours, making it the fastest sea connection from Sweden to Germany. FRS Baltic will offer day trips to Bordershop between April and October 2023, as well as overnight departures during the summer months.

Positive trend for passenger traffic
The number of passenger cars and passengers has seen very positive development at the Port of Trelleborg during 2022. 1.6 million passengers and just over 372,000 passenger cars passed through the port, and the trend looks set to continue in 2023 as well, when FRS Baltic restarts the route to Sassnitz.

The royal line is resurrected
The historic Kungsleden, in recent years named Kungslinjen, between Trelleborg and Sassnitz, was inaugurated on July 6, 1909, by King Gustaf V and the German Emperor Wilhelm II. The Trelleborg-Sassnitz route was discontinued in 2020 in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

Europe's best RoRo port with five destinations in Europe
Trelleborgs Port has a unique geographical location and now serves the destinations Rostock, Travemünde, Sassnitz, Swinoujscie and Klaipeda.

− We are proud to once again be able to offer five lines to Europe, no other Swedish port can match this.. With Skane Jet, we now have 16 vessels in operation in the harbour; that's impressive., says Jörgen Nilsson, CEO of Trelleborg Port.

Tourism is expected to increase in Trelleborg
Good infrastructure is an important ingredient when a destination wants to attract more foreign visitors. Already last year we set a new record for German guests, and the new ferry connection will give us even better conditions to gain further market share. Our businesses are now looking forward to welcoming even more German visitors to Trelleborg and the south coast., says Maarja Edman, CEO of Visit Trelleborg.
