Qatar Airways continues to expand its international route network and is now resuming services to both Helsinki and Tokyo Haneda. This venture is part of the airline's continued expansion during 2026.
The return to Helsinki strengthens Qatar Airways' presence in the Nordics, where the company already serves Stockholm, Oslo, and Copenhagen. The airline describes the Nordics as a strategically important market and sees continued potential for both business and leisure travel.
At the same time, daily services between Doha and Tokyo Haneda will resume, meaning Qatar Airways will once again offer double daily connections to the Tokyo region, alongside the Narita route. The service will be operated by an Airbus A350-900 equipped with the airline's Qsuite Business Class.
The expansion is part of Qatar Airways' larger summer 2026 programme, where the airline plans to serve over 150 destinations worldwide. The expansion includes both new destinations and more departures on existing routes via the airline's hub in Doha.
