Swedavia is recruiting Sofia Johansson to the position of new airport manager at Umeå Airport. Sofia most recently came from the position as chief of staff and purchasing manager at Skolfastigheter i Stockholm AB, within the Stockholm Municipality Group. She replaces BO Lindgren who, after many years as airport manager, has chosen to move on to another senior role within Swedavia Regional Airports.
– It is of course very exciting to welcome Sofia Johansson to Swedavia. Her broad expertise and experience will be a valuable addition to both Swedavia and Umeå Airport. I look forward to continuing to work with Sofia to strengthen regional accessibility while we push for the absolutely necessary transition to fossil-free aviation, says Karin Öhrström, Director of Regional Airports at Swedavia.
– First and foremost, I am looking forward to familiarizing myself with the operations and taking advantage of all the expertise that is currently in place. I also look forward to leading our operations in a direction that benefits Umeå and the region. I see the work at Umeå Airport as a fantastic opportunity to be involved in developing the industry and the region in a direction that can both open doors to new collaborations, while also contributing to the climate transition, says Sofia Johansson, incoming airport manager Umeå Airport at Swedavia and continues:
– Umeå is a growing city with aviation as a hub in the region. I am happy and proud to be part of that journey and to do it together with all the employees at the airport, concludes Sofia Johansson.
Sofia has extensive experience in leading developing businesses, but also in working with growing cities. Most recently, she came from a role as Chief of Staff and Purchasing Manager at Skolfastigheter i Stockholm AB, within the Stockholm Municipality Group.
Sofia Johansson will take up her position as the new airport manager at Umeå Airport on May 1.
