Twice as many bookings – but a lower average price per trip. Solfaktor.se is experiencing strong growth in Sweden. From January 1st to July 24th, 2025, the number of bookings has doubled compared to the same period last year. Revenue has therefore increased by 24 percent – a clear sign that Swedes are travelling more, but more cheaply.
– We see that our Swedish customers are increasingly choosing shorter, more affordable trips. It's about getting the most holiday for the money, says Gunnar Grosvold, CEO of Solfaktor.
Spain remains the largest – but Greece is catching up
Spain retains its top position with 31 percent of all departures between 1 June and 24 July 2025, closely followed by Greece, which has increased from 11 to 19 percent compared to the same period last year. Italy has lost ground, from 19 to 14 percent. At the same time, the low-cost options of Albania and Poland account for 5 percent each regarding departures – a clear trend towards more budget-friendly destinations.
Ryanair back – now accounts for 40 percent of air traffic
In December 2024, Solfaktor was one of the first tour operators in the Nordic region to reintroduce Ryanair into its package tours, after the airline once again opened up for third-party sales. The return is clearly noticeable: Ryanair accounts for 40 percent of all flights from Sweden so far this year – compared to its 22 percent in 2023. Norwegian is the second largest with 25 percent, while SAS has decreased sharply, from 13 to 4 percent of this summer's traffic.
Arlanda largest – Gothenburg and Kastrup share second place
Stockholm Arlanda is Sweden's largest departure airport, handling 54 percent of Solfaktor's traffic. Gothenburg Landvetter and Copenhagen Kastrup share second place with 20 percent each.
Flights + hotel – easy and flexible
All trips from Solfaktor.se are package holidays based on scheduled flights and hotels, with departures from several Swedish airports. The packages include necessary additional services and give customers great freedom of choice and security throughout the entire journey.
