AVIAREPS has been appointed by SriLankan Airlines as the general agent for the Nordic countries: Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland, with immediate effect. AVIAREPS is a world leader in tourism and aviation with 64 offices in 47 countries worldwide.

The appointment comes as Sri Lanka's national airline seeks recovery, increased sales and expanded market share from the Nordics, in the aftermath of the pandemic, as well as the post-pandemic era.

AVIAREPS will act as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for SriLankan Airlines in the Nordic countries through Aviareps local teams and offices in the area, responsible for the airline's sales, marketing, reservations and ticketing.

”We proudly introduce Aviareps as our General Sales Agent in these key markets. We see them as a strong partner in reconnecting the key Nordic markets to our top destinations - Sri Lanka and the Maldives.” Said Manoj Gunawardena, Regional Manager Europe for SriLankan Airlines.

”We are very proud of the appointment and the trust given. We will use our professional local Nordic team to strengthen SriLankan Airlines' market position in our area. We want to strengthen the connection between the Nordic countries and Sri Lanka,” says Tapani Kauhanen, Aviarep's General Manager for the Nordic countries.

SriLankan Airlines has built a strong reputation worldwide for its service, comfort, safety and reliability, receiving many enviable industry awards over time.

SriLankan Airlines became the first airline in the South Asian region to receive the Diamond rating from the Airline Passengers Experience Association (APEX) and SimpliFlying: a standard received for the extra safety measures and extensive hygiene measures that have been followed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

SriLankan Airlines is part of the One World Alliance.
