At Swedavia's ten airports, travellers and employees, along with other partners, raised over SEK 2.8 million in 2023 for the Swedish Red Cross, an increase of SEK 1.1 million compared to 2022. Swedavia's collaboration with the Red Cross began in 2012 and has since contributed a total of SEK 23 million to the organisation's relief and aid efforts. On April 18, the annual fundraising cheque was presented to the Swedish Red Cross by Fredrik Jaresved, Director of Strategic Initiatives and Innovation at Swedavia, at a ceremony at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

In an unstable global environment, with wars, conflicts and ongoing economic challenges, it becomes even more important that we work together to do what we can to contribute to a slightly better world. We at Swedavia are therefore proud of our long-standing collaboration with the Swedish Red Cross, where our travellers and employees can easily give a gift that makes a difference in people's everyday lives. On behalf of Swedavia, I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who contributed to last year's collection at our ten airports. It is a proud and valuable tradition that continues to live on, says Fredrik Jaresved, Director of Strategic Initiatives and Innovation at Swedavia.

During 2023, travellers and employees at Swedavia's airports collected over SEK 2.8 million for the Swedish Red Cross's humanitarian work, an increase of approximately SEK 1.1 million compared to 2022. The collection consists of both monetary donations and lost property, and at many of Swedavia's ten airports, travellers and employees have the opportunity to donate money in the Red Cross's collection boxes. Both Swedish and foreign currency can be donated, and the entire amount collected goes to the Swedish Red Cross's work.

"It is very gratifying to see so many of Swedavia's travellers and employees choose to support their fellow human beings. This support is important for our continued work to meet both the acute and long-term needs of people affected by crises around the world, reinforce Sweden's preparedness for future challenges, and ensure that more people in vulnerable situations gain access to food, medicine, and shelter," says Patrik Nygren-Bonnier, Head of Communications and Fundraising at the Swedish Red Cross.

According to the press release.
