In April, the Norwegian Group had a total of 2.35 million passengers, of which 2.02 million flew with Norwegian and 336,000 with Widerøe. The month was characterised by particularly high punctuality for both airlines, and Norwegian's punctuality of 90.6 percent is the best in a single month since 2023.
We are pleased that over 2.3 million passengers chose to travel with Norwegian and Widerøe in April. We have increased capacity leading up to the summer season to meet demand in all markets. The macroeconomic picture remains uncertain, but I am pleased that the booking trend for the summer is stable and that more and more customers are planning their holidays with us. We have no plans to cancel flights due to today's high fuel prices, says Norwegian CEO Geir Karlsen.
Norwegian's capacity (ASK) was 3,288 million seat-kilometres in April, an increase of 3 per cent compared to April 2025. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 2,714 million seat-kilometres, an increase of 2 per cent from the same period last year. In April, Norwegian had an average of 89 aircraft in operation. The load factor was 82.6 per cent, down 0.9 percentage points from last year, and was affected by Easter falling earlier this year. Regularity, the percentage of scheduled flights completed, was a very high 99.8 per cent. On-time performance, the percentage of departures within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, was 90.6 per cent, an increase of 2.5 percentage points from last year.
– I am particularly pleased with the stable operational performance this month. The excellent work effort from colleagues across the company has resulted in Norwegian's best punctuality in three years during a single month. Stable operations combined with an attractive route network and competitive prices position us well for the travel-intensive summer, Geir Karlsen continues.
Widerøe's capacity (ASK) was 174 million seat kilometres, unchanged from last year. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 122 million seat kilometres, a decrease of 3 percent from April 2025. The load factor was 70.1 percent, down 1.7 percentage points from last year. Regularity, the proportion of scheduled flights completed, was 97.7 percent. On-time performance, the proportion of departures within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, was 94.0 percent, an increase of 8.5 percentage points from last year.
