The airspace over Sola Airport in Stavanger, Norway, was closed after a plane observed a drone, reports Excellent.
– We are immediately closing the airspace as a safety measure, until the police and air traffic controllers jointly assess that the situation is under control. The police are now out looking for the drone and the drone operator, Avinor's press spokesperson, Harald Kvam, tells the newspaper.
The airspace above Haugesund Airport was also closed, Avinor reports TV2. The measures will lead to delays in air traffic.
The police: ”Nothing more concrete to go on.”
The Police in Sør-Vest skriver på Twitter that they were alerted to a drone at Sola Airport at 19.42. An aircraft that had seen the drone informed the control tower, which in turn alerted the police.
The police have searched for the drone, without success.
