Skavsta is strengthening its organisation with Brett Weihart as the new CEO of Stockholm Skavsta Airport and Daniel Christensen as Head of Property Development at Explore Skavsta. Brett and Daniel will take up their new roles during August 2024. Together, they will drive the development at Skavsta.
Brett Weihart has over 20 years of experience and knowledge in leadership and commercial development within Swedish and international airports. He has a large network within the aviation industry and has, among other things, established Scandinavian Mountains Airport. In his current role as CEO of Regional Airport Partners, Brett has supported, and continues to support, some twenty Nordic regional airports, focusing primarily on commercial development.
– We are in a development phase where we see that Brett's extensive experience and expertise in airport establishment and operation will have a strong impact on Stockholm Skavsta Airport's development. Brett's broad network and knowledge of national and international route development are precisely what the airport and Skavsta as a whole need. We are pleased that Brett has chosen Skavsta, says Kjell-Åke Westin, Chairman of the Board of Stockholm Skavsta Airport.
– Stockholm Skavsta Airport presents a unique challenge with enormous potential. With a dynamic and forward-thinking owner company behind us and a full-service airport with knowledgeable colleagues, this was simply too exciting to say no to. I look forward to working with the team in Skavsta, says Brett Weihart, future CEO of Stockholm Skavsta Airport.
Daniel Christensen has over 20 years of experience in various management roles and has worked with all the responsibilities that the new role as Head of Property Development entails. For example, leadership, management, and urban and business development. Daniel most recently comes from a position as CEO of Qarlbo Property and 3E Entertainment.
– A lot is happening at Skavsta. We're laying the groundwork for sustainable development of our property holdings, and Daniel's broad range of expertise in areas including leadership and urban development fits perfectly with our current situation, says Erik Nyberg, Head of Property Development at Arlandastad Group.
Skavsta is an extraordinary place. The potential lies in a combination of the large developable land, Skavsta being a hub where several modes of transport, including air travel, meet, and not least that the municipality, which is also a co-owner, has designated the area as a priority development zone. All of this, together with the forthcoming Ostlänken railway, makes Skavsta an exciting growth area of importance for Swedish growth. I look forward to starting my new position and working together with colleagues and partners, says Daniel Christensen, future Head of Property Development Explore Skavsta.
Brett and Daniel will work closely together to optimise Skavsta's development, as airport operations and property development are closely linked and contribute to each other's growth.
