The British airline Ryanair will be forced by the British Civil Aviation Authority to compensate passengers for strikes.

Sky News reports that the widespread strikes that have occurred do not constitute "extraordinary circumstances", which is why Ryanair is not exempt from EU compensation rules. The airline has previously claimed this.

This means that Ryanair customers who have requested compensation should be compensated in line with the laws, according to the authority.
