As of Thursday, 200 Danish aircraft mechanics have gone on a sympathy strike for SAS pilots.

However, the mechanics who service the planes that are still being flown are not included in the sympathy strike and SAS states that the sympathy strike will not affect any of the flights that the company still operates. 

The sympathy strike However, according to Ekot, this means that half of SAS's flights may be canceled for a longer period than usual, as the planes will not be serviced and ready to fly if and when the pilots return.

On Monday, SAS pilots went on strike and on Tuesday the airline announced that it intends to initiate financial reconstruction in the United States under Chapter 11 of the American bankruptcy law.
