The newly launched Icelandic low-cost airline PLAY will begin flying from Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) from 31 March. New York, three additional cities in North America, and Reykjavik are new destinations offered from Arlanda. A return flight to New York costs from SEK 4800.

– We've seen a large demand for affordable flights between Arlanda and North America, particularly to New York. At a time when many people's personal finances are strained by rising prices, we want to be an affordable, flexible, and safe alternative, says Birgir Jonsson, CEO of PLAY Airlines.

The Icelandic low-cost airline PLAY commenced operations in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, beginning flights in the summer of 2021. Since then, the airline has established new routes across large parts of Europe and North America. PLAY's primary target audience is young people travelling to visit family and friends or going on leisure trips.

– After the pandemic, we're more eager than ever to see the world again. We at PLAY want to make travel accessible to as many people as possible and hope that more young people can afford a holiday trip or a visit to family, says Birgir Jonsson.

From 31 March, PLAY will fly Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Stewart International Airport (SWF), with a stopover at Keflavik International Airport (KEF), four times a week. The destinations Boston, Baltimore, Toronto and Reykjavik will also be available for travellers from Arlanda.
