Øresund Bridge traffic reached record levels in the first half of 2025 – with an increase in both freight transport, commuter traffic and leisure travel across the bridge.
Øresundsbro Konsortiet's profit before value changes was DKK 776 million, which is DKK 75 million more than in the first half of last year.
During the first six months of the year, the Øresund Bridge has seen strong development with an average of 20,404 passages per day. Traffic increased in all areas and has reached a new record level. Overall, road traffic increased by 6.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
– The Øresund Bridge's strong traffic development is a clear sign that 25 years after its inauguration, the bridge plays an increasingly important role in people's everyday lives, both for work, leisure and in business, says Linus Eriksson, CEO of Øresundsbro Konsortiet.
Leisure traffic among ØresundGO customers increased by 7.7 percent during the first six months of the year compared to the same period in 2024.
Truck traffic accounted for an average of 1,672 passengers per day, which represents an increase of 3.3 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.
Commuting increased by 9.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
– Commuting across the Øresund Bridge was strong last year, but has continued to increase this year. It is a long-term trend that shows that more and more people see the opportunities of working on the other side of the strait, says Linus Eriksson.
The Öresund Link's green passages, with vehicles powered by electricity or hydrogen, continue to increase. In June 2024, the share of green passages was 12.2 percent – and it has increased gradually every month to 17.4 percent in June this year. This corresponds to an increase of approximately 43 percent in one year.
Road revenue increased by DKK 54 million to DKK 838 million in the first half of 2025, which corresponds to 6.9 percent and is in line with the increase in traffic.
Øresundsbro Konsortiet's interest expenses decreased from DKK 97 million to DKK 59 million, which is the result of falling inflation and reduced debt. Operating expenses increased by DKK 17 million compared to the corresponding period last year, which is in line with expectations and can be attributed to expanded operations, price increases and exchange rate effects on operating expenses incurred in SEK.
– Our financial result reflects the strong traffic development and increased market share. We estimate that the expected annual result before value adjustment will increase to DKK 1,600-1,700 million (previously communicated DKK 1,500-1,600 million), says Linus Eriksson.
