The train company Eurostar, which operates in Western Europe, announced last year that it had ordered 50 trains worth 22 billion kronor that would be able to withstand 45-degree heat. After the recent heat waves in Europe, the company has now decided to change the agreement. Instead, it is requesting trains that will be able to withstand 55-degree heat, writes The Telegraph.
“We buy trains that will last 30 years, and we thought that temperatures in the UK could possibly reach those levels in the 2060s,” Gwendoline Cazenave, CEO of Eurostar, told The Telegraph.
