The restaurant La Girafe by Pontus Frithiof has now opened at the airport. The restaurant, which takes its cue from multicultural Paris, offers a pleasant atmosphere in two sections, Bistro and Food & Bar, which has the airport's largest bar and many dishes on the menu.
The bistro concept La Girafe is star restaurateur Pontus Frithiof's interpretation of multicultural Paris. In La Girafe's DNA, passion and craftsmanship meet with playfulness and curiosity, which is reflected in everything from menus and service to atmosphere and interior. From early morning, breakfast is served á la carte in the bistro and a generous breakfast buffet in the food bar, and then you can choose from a large selection of small dishes, starters, main courses and desserts. The menus are composed so that it is easy to choose and for quick serving. The basis is tasty classic French gastronomy with inspiration from exotic flavors from Vietnam, Morocco and New Orleans. La Girafe's classic signature dishes, such as Vietnamese spring rolls, Nems, raw steak "Moroccan Beef Tartar Butcher Style" and veal schnitzel are permanent features on the menu.
– In our strategy for the commercial offering at Arlanda, we requested a fine dining concept for those travelers who want something out of the ordinary, and La Girafe will offer just that. The restaurant offers several different concepts that we hope will suit all travelers. It is eagerly awaited that La Girafe is now opening at Marknadsplatsen in Terminal 5, says Charlotte Ljunggren, Director of Marketing and Sales at Swedavia.
La Girafe offers breakfast, all-day brunch, lunch and dinner. The menu is extensive and the dishes are described in detail to make it easy and appealing to all travelers. The food is prepared “a la minute” with the goal of having the food within 15 minutes. Some dishes on the a la carte menu are prepared as express dishes and served faster for travelers in a hurry.
Since 2015, Pontus Frithiof, owner and founder of Pontus Group, and Thomas Dahlstedt, founder and main owner of Nordrest, have had a close collaboration. The forms of the collaboration have varied over the years, but in recent years a franchise arrangement has been formed, where Nordrest is a contracting party and is responsible for the operation of La Girafe. Pontus sets its signature and DNA by designing concepts and menus with quality, creating visibility and a sense of touch with guests.
– We at Nordrest are proud and happy that we have now opened our fourth unit at Arlanda. We look forward to offering an exciting concept that adds something out of the ordinary for Arlanda's travelers, says Michael Bühring, CEO Nordrest Restaurants
According to the press release.
