Major airlines from the Arab oil countries in the Persian Gulf – such as Emirates and Qatar Airways – are slowly starting to increase the number of flights to and from the region again.
This is despite Iran's attacks on targets in the countries continuing.
Dubai-based Emirates, the region's largest airline, currently flies to around 100 destinations in more than 50 countries. But the frequency of flights is 60 percent of the number of flights per day before the Iran war, which began on February 28, according to statistics from Flightradar 24.
Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, is at around 20 percent of the normal volume of flights, while Qatar Airways – number two in the region and based in Doha – is at around 7 percent.
Emirates states that it expects to resume the company's entire range of flights within a few days.
