Scandic Hotels is launching Scandic Go in Norway by converting Scandic Grensen in Oslo into the country's first Scandic Go hotel. With the transformation of the centrally located 96-room hotel, Scandic is broadening its offering in Norway to meet demand in the fast-growing economy segment. The new hotel is expected to open in the first half of 2026.

Since the launch of Scandic Go, which is part of Scandic's long-term growth plan, Norway is now getting its first Scandic Go hotel. Scandic Grensen in central Oslo is being converted into a Scandic Go, thus introducing a new accommodation concept that combines smart design, seamless self-service, and an attractive price. The hotel is designed for the modern traveller seeking an urban and affordable option in the heart of the city.

– Norway is one of Scandic’s most important markets with strong demand and good growth opportunities. Our establishment of Scandic Go in the heart of Oslo is an important milestone for Scandic and our growth strategy. The new hotel underscores our commitment to the country and opens the door for more guests who want to discover the city, says Jens Mathiesen, President and CEO, Scandic Hotels Group.

The choice to launch Scandic Go in Norway by converting Scandic Grensen is no coincidence. The hotel's existing infrastructure, layout, and location make it well-suited for Scandic Go. Before the new hotel opens, it will be updated and adapted to the Scandic Go brand and the guest experience that characterises Scandic Go.

Oslo's most important cultural attractions and architectural history are within easy reach of the hotel, and guests can walk to paradegatan Karl Johan gate, the Storting (Parliament), and Oslo Cathedral, among other places.

– We are also pleased to present our first Scandic Go in the Norwegian market. With its central location and modern profile, it meets the needs of a new generation of guests, and will be a welcome addition to the Norwegian hotel industry. We look forward to launching Scandic Go in Norway and at the same time broadening Scandic's hotel offering for our guests, says Asle Prestegard, COO of Scandic Norway.

Upon opening, the hotel will be Nordic Swan Ecolabelled, in line with the majority of Scandic hotels. The premiere opening of Norway's first Scandic Go is planned for the first half of 2026.
