Now have Strawberry has opened the doors to the new Clarion Hotel Draken. Sweden's tallest hotel building features 474 rooms, including 3 astonishing suites. After several years of work, the city's new cultural stage and meeting place is complete. Guests can now finally experience this venue, complete with a vibrant stage and spectacular gastronomy, against a breathtaking view of the city.
In the middle of Järntorget, in the heart of Gothenburg, Clarion Hotel Draken has risen with its 34 floors offering views over the entire city. In total, the hotel has 474 rooms, three of which are suites located on the 29th floor of the building. All rooms have a warm feel with an industrial interior design where the hotel's recurring theme of film history is clearly both visible and felt.

– We've been working towards this day for a long time, and we're incredibly happy that the hotel is now open and guests have started checking in. But we're also very pleased with the interest from the people of Gothenburg in the hotel. At the opening, the staff were met by lots of eager Gothenburg residents who wanted to see and experience Draken up close. It was an interest that exceeded all our expectations and makes us happy and warm to our very core., says Clarion Hotel Draken and Strawberry owner Petter Stordalen.
A unique place where there is something for everyone
But this is more than just a hotel; it's a place for entertainment, conferences, new encounters, culture, and unique culinary experiences. Both the K-listed Draken cinema and the Vågen entertainment venue are preserved at the heart of the hotel, where film history meets the future in a new, dramatic guise. In addition to the signature Living Room bar, where guests can enjoy a drink with live entertainment, Hotel Draken also has a library. A unique room with tall bookshelves filled with well-known literature and comfortable seating areas to settle into. Here, guests can relax with a nice drink to enjoy film music on vinyl, embraced by the warm atmosphere that makes them feel right at home.

Many people who come to Gothenburg miss this part of town, now it feels like we at Hotel Draken are helping to open people's eyes to what might be the city's soul. And we work very hard as a company to burst the myth that hotels are only for hotel guests. Hotels are just as much a place for locals, a meeting place, a cultural scene, and a unique selection of drinks and food. Draken is the hotel for the people of Gothenburg., says hotel manager Martin Wiholm.
Sensational gastronomy 33 floors up
Table bookings for the hotel's pride and joy are now open. 104 metres up, high above Gothenburg, floats the timeless and spirited Brasserie Draken. Surrounded by panoramic windows, the restaurant offers a magnificent view of the city and the harbour entrance. A brasserie on steroids where the menu is influenced by French brasseries as well as by West Coast ingredients. Selected dishes are partly prepared tableside and all with an international twist. Jeanette Medin is the restaurant manager and Peter Wallin is the head chef. The wine list offered is well-stocked with sought-after and unique vintages that sommelier Andreas Hiller has helped to handpick. One floor up is the rooftop bar with a unique menu of cocktails created by award-winning Arber Bamci.
