Around thirty flights to and from Sweden are affected by the 24-hour strike by around 25,000 members of the ground staff at German airports this week, according to Swedavia.
”"According to the information I have right now, this applies to Lufthansa's regular flight #," says Peter Wärring, press officer at Swedavia, adding that it concerns incoming and departing flights from both Arlanda and Landvetter.
In Germany, this mainly applies to flights to and from the major airports in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg.
Peter Wärring urges travelers to stay updated through, among other things, Swedavia's website or by direct contact with the airline Lufthansa.
”"According to the information we have received, Lufthansa has already started contacting its passengers to prepare a rebooking process."”
Over 100,000 passengers could be affected by the strike, according to Lufthansa. Swedavia cannot say how many of them are traveling to and from Sweden.
The strike is scheduled to begin at 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning and end at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday.
